1.1 Understanding your reading list
In this module you will learn how to
- distinguish between the different types of references on a reading list, and
- select between the different reference styles.
Your lecturer will often provide a list of references (sometimes called a bibliography) that you will be expected to read.
References (also known as citations or sources), may be books, chapters of books, articles from journals and papers from conferences.
It is really important that you can identify the different reference types so that you can find them in the Library Catalogue.
